St Helens Library Service is currently consulting residents and partners about the draft Library Strategy (attached below). They are looking to explore the possibility of organisations such as Parish Councils, voluntary and community organisations being involved in managing libraries in the community.

They have commissioned Placed,  an independent social enterprise based in Liverpool to deliver an online workshop to explore ideas around how the Library Service can be developed, including potential community managed arrangements. The workshop is open to everyone, but they are specifically targeting those organisations who they think can help with this element. Details of the workshop are below.

Brief overview:

PLACED are delivering a series of events to enable people to input into the St Helens Library Strategy. These events will be an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas. They will focus on what libraries should offer in buildings, online and on an outreach basis, as well as exploring ideas for different models for how library services can be delivered.

When can I join the conversation? Initial online workshop: 12noon - 1.30pm Tuesday 13th July 2021.

This initial workshop will be for key stakeholders and interested parties. It will particularly explore how local people could be more involved in the future of the Library Service through different delivery models.

Booking required.
