Halton Children and Families services are excited to be recruiting to a new post of Parenting Co-ordinator. This post is a fixed term 3 year funded post until Sept 2024 to secure a dedicated practitioner who is committed to taking forward Halton’s Parenting offer.
You must have a thorough understanding of the challenges parents face when bringing up children and young people and be alert to the issues facing families in our local communities in today’s society.
The Parenting Co-ordinator will be based with the ‘Team around the Family’ division and will work across Halton. You must have strong communication skills, oral and written, and be confident to deliver training to a wide range of professionals.
The Parenting Coordinator will be the key contact to support and develop the roll out of Halton’s Parenting Support Strategy. Core tasks include:
•To co-ordinate and evaluate the multiple offers of parenting courses available across Halton – this will involve arranging a rolling programme of course delivery and reviewing the effectiveness of provision at all levels eg information & guidance; targeted group support to intensive accredited programmes.
•To develop a parenting hub resource (internet based) for professionals, stakeholders and parents – a central point of contact of information and resources which promotes family resilience, healthy relationships and improved outcomes for families, children and young people.
•To lead on the roll out of Reducing Parental Conflict multi-agency training across the borough.
•To identify and address gaps in provision to ensure that a wide range of relevant support remains available across the Borough.
