Exciting news! Halton Council are planning to deliver their very own version of HAF throughout the October and February half term holidays. They are working in partnership with some private sector organisations to provide food over the October and February half term breaks to make sure our children don’t go hungry over the holiday periods.
There is a great need for tackling holiday hunger during October and February half term when there is no official HAF funding available from the DFE. Also there will be a reduction in Universal Credit, Furlough is also winding down and there is no commitment from national government for free school meal vouchers during these school holidays.
Halton Council want to link up with those providers who are planning on putting on activities within the half term holidays to support feeding their young people.
