Senior Development Worker x 2 (1 - St Helens; 1 - Halton)

Salary: £26,657

Halton & St Helens have a vibrant Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise Sector providing direct services to our local people. Working with our wider team, you will be making strategic links and connections with our partners, facilitating networks and supporting the development of the sector to engage with the strategic direction of our two boroughs. 

Job purpose - To develop and manage localities / place-based support networks for the voluntary,   community, faith and social enterprise sector of Halton / St Helens which will allow people to influence the delivery of public services and feed issues into the Local Strategic Partnership.

Key Tasks

  • Provide practical support to groups and organisations in the Voluntary, Community Faith and Social Enterprise Sector of Halton or St Helens including: supporting networks and partnerships, communications, and liaison between sectors.
  • Represent Halton & St Helens VCA at external meetings events and functions when required.
  • Enable the sector to connect with funders and other key organisations to support their development
  • Maintain the development of assessment tools and other resources relevant to the improvement needs of small and medium sized voluntary sector organisations
  • Contribute to the provision of timely and relevant information and resources for VCA’s members through the website, newsletter, meetings and events.
  • Support the implementation of the organisations values through the delivery of our work.
  • Fulfil the monitoring and reporting requirements for funders, stakeholders and the Board.
  • Assist new and emerging organisations to set up including the development of governing documents, policies and where necessary register with the charity commission.

Finance & Payroll Assistant – Based in St Helens (Part time 25 hours)

Salary: £12,350

Our St Helens based finance team provides payroll services for a variety of local groups and organisations across Halton & St Helens as well as keeping our internal day to day finances running smoothly. You will be supporting our Finance officer with data entry in both excel spreadsheets and our accounting software - helping to deliver our payroll service.

Job Purpose - To provide administrative and book-keeping support and contribute towards the smooth and effective operation of the finance and admin core team

Key Tasks

  • Support the running of the day-to-day VCA financial systems including data entry, reconciliation, and invoicing.
  • Manage and maintain records relating to the financial systems and procedures.
  • Provide general clerical support including dealing with membership renewals.
  • You will offer support in an administrative capacity, entering data and information, updating excel spreadsheets and using Quickbooks accounting system.
  • To provide support in relation to the operation of the VCA Payroll Bureau
