Rhythm Reaction CIC

Rhythm Reaction is a community interest company. We deliver Drum-A-Long drum workshops, Drum-A-Cise exercise workout sessions and Community Drum Circles. Our sessions are fun, as well as therapeutic, and are suitable for groups and individuals of all ages and abilities. We work to combat social isolation, loneliness and improve people’s mental and physical health and general wellbeing. All of our drum workshops are designed to be accessible and achievable for everybody and anybody and inclusive for all. It is our aim to help everyone who participates in our sessions to experience and achieve the many benefits that participating in playing drums can provide. These includes building community spirit and helps our attendees to develop personal relationships and friendships with others and we actively involve people who may be socially isolated or lonely. A great example of this is the members of our Halton drum group, who are individuals from different backgrounds, who come together from different areas of the Liverpool City Region. These sessions are now not only about drumming but they have also become a weekly social event that has created a new community and inspired new friendships that have developed from it. We want to bring some much-needed fun into people's lives, especially in these difficult times. It is very important to us that our sessions are a lot of fun and put smiles on faces. Many benefits can be achieved by participating in any kind of group drumming, such as: breaking down barriers, bringing people together and building communities, enabling a sense of camaraderie, promoting inclusion, building up confidence, encouraging leadership qualities, developing dexterity, improving physical stamina and many more. Research shows that drumming has a positive effect on people's mental and physical health and wellbeing. We deliver three types of drumming workshops: 1. Drum-A-Long fun drum workshops 2. Drum-A-Cise exercise workshops 3. Community Drum Circles By categorising the sessions into three different types, organisations or individuals can choose to come to the sessions they feel most comfortable with, or that best suits their wants and needs. Each of the three session types focusses specifically on particular benefits that participating can achieve. However, while taking part in a specific session a bi-product of this is that people can achieve other benefits. For example, a person may come to our Drum-A-Cise exercise session to improve their physical health and, at the same time, they may experience an improvement in their mental health, feeling happier, more relaxed and having an improved feeling of general wellbeing. We know this is true for many exercise classes, however, the way we deliver our sessions contributes greatly to participants experiencing additional benefits. Likewise, this is true for our Drum-A-Long fun drum workshops and Community Drum Circles.
