Alzheimer's Society - Cheshire North & St Helens Services

Alzheimer's Society is the leading care and research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them. Alzheimer's Society provides information and support for people with all forms of dementia and to those who care for them. We run quality care services, fund research, inform professionals and campaign for improved health and social care and greater public understanding and awareness of dementia. The success of our wide range of services is down to our volunteers and staff working in partnership. We are currently looking for volunteer befrienders to offer social contact to people with dementia. This will involve visiting a person with dementia on a regular basis (perhaps a few hours each week or fortnight) to provide companionship either in their home or in their local community and help the person to take part in appropriate social and/or recreational activities.
